The Tara – one of the most beautiful and attractive rivers in Europe. On its 145 km long course from Komovi, it created a canyon, nearly 100 km long and more than 1300 m deep.

The Tara river canyon is the second deepest canyon in the world (after the Grand Canyon in Colorado), but it certainly is the first for its beauty. Due to its crystal clear water (one can drink it along the route), and its exceptionally rich plant and animal species, many of which are endemic, the Tara is on the list of the protected areas of UNESCO.
