Dupljak is one of those peaks of the Stara Planina Mountain that reveal their true beauty only when you take in the surrounding views. The altitude, open spaces, and tranquility make this ascent special, while the panoramas from the ridge leave a lasting impression. This tour is designed for those who wish to experience the high-mountain environment of Stara Planina in its most authentic form.
Tour plan:
Departure from the “Čair” hall in Niš (near the ticket office) at 7 a.m. Traveling via Svrljig, Periš, and Kalna, we reach the mountain lodge at Babin Zub (1580 m), from where the ascent to Dupljak (2033 m) begins – the second-highest peak of Stara Planina in Serbia. The trail passes over several peaks under 2000 meters and at one point forks – to the right towards Midžor, while we turn left towards Dupljak. The total trail length is 18.2 km, and in favorable weather conditions, the summit can be reached in approximately 3 to 3.5 hours of walking. This is a moderate hiking tour, suitable for those with average fitness. Often overlooked due to its proximity to Midžor, Dupljak offers exceptional views of the surrounding peaks, Bulgaria, and Midžor itself. After a break at the summit, we return along the same trail, with short detours to viewpoints, to the Babin Zub plateau. Refreshments are available at the “Plaža” café, followed by the return journey to Niš via the same route. Arrival in Niš in the evening. End of program.

Sneakers or hiking boots, a few pairs of socks, T-shirts, a hooded waterproof jacket, a sweatshirt, backup clothes and shoes, sunglasses, a cap, suntan cream. It is also recommended to take candy bars, nibbles, refreshing beverages and water. Put everything into a small backpack.
A 50% advance payment of the total arrangement price is required at the time of booking. The remaining amount must be paid no later than 20 days before the start of the trip (with the option of installment payments). This program is based on a minimum of 8 registered participants. In case of changes in the monetary market (or the market of goods and services) or an insufficient number of registered participants, the tour organizer reserves the right to adjust prices, modify the program, or cancel the trip no later than 5 days before the scheduled departure.
