The Prokletije (Accursed Mountains) are a mountain range that stretches across three countries: Montenegro, Albania, and Serbia (part of Kosovo and Metohija). They belong to the vast Dinaric system, which extends for 650 km from Slovenia to Albania. The highest peak of the Prokletije, and at the same time of the entire Dinaric system, is Maja Jezerce (2,694 m).
Prokletije, or in Albanian Bjeshkët e Nemuna – meaning “cursed” or “forbidden mountains” – perfectly describes this wild landscape of the Balkan Peninsula.
On this four-day tour, we will explore the diverse scenery of the Prokletije: from idyllic mountain pastures and glacial lakes, across steep ridges and alpine peaks, all the way to the roof of the Dinaric Alps – the imposing Maja Jezerce (2,694 m). Each day brings a new adventure and a unique perspective on the raw power of nature.
This journey is designed for hikers in good physical condition, ready to step into the heart of the wildest mountain massif of the Balkans and experience a blend of physical challenge, pure mountain air, and unforgettable views that will leave you breathless.
