Get to know Niš and its surroundings. Look at the beauties of the imposing Sićevačka gorge, which due to its position and geomorphological characteristics belongs to the most beautiful gorges of our country. The river Nišava cut its bed between Suva planina Mountain and Svrljiške planine Mountains and thus carved the Sićevačka gorge. High walls of limestone, caves and ditches, diverse biodiversity, beautiful lookouts, and rich cultural and historical heritage, are just a part of what this gorge offers.
Tour plan:
Departure from Niš in front of the hotel at 9:00 a.m. With a local guide, we head east towards Pirot. After a 30-minute drive, we arrive in the village of Sićevo, located at the entrance to the Sićevačka Gorge. In the village, we will visit a scenic viewpoint overlooking the gorge’s limestone walls and the Nišava River, near the historic hydroelectric power plant built in 1908.
We then embark on a one-hour hike along the rocky perimeter, leading us to a cave with an impressive 25-meter-high entrance. Our entry into the cave will be an adventure in itself – rappelling down a rope into its depths. As you descend, you’ll be treated to a unique perspective—on one side, the cave’s entrance above you, and on the other, the untamed wilderness of this part of the Sićevačka Gorge.
After exploring the cave, we will ascend the steep cliffs and make our way back to the village of Sićevo. We return to Niš in the afternoon. End of the program.

Sneakers or climbing shoes, several pairs of socks, T-shirts, a hooded waterproof parka, a sweatshirt, spare pants, sunglasses, a cap, and sunscreen. It’s also recommended to pack some energy bars, snacks, refreshing drinks, and plenty of water. Carry everything in a small backpack.
A 50% advance payment of the total arrangement price is required at the time of booking. The remaining amount must be paid no later than 20 days before the start of the trip (with the option of installment payments). This program is based on a minimum of 2 registered participants. In case of changes in the monetary market (or the market of goods and services) or an insufficient number of registered participants, the tour organizer reserves the right to adjust prices, modify the program, or cancel the trip no later than 5 days before the scheduled departure.
According to the Serbian Law on Tourism (Article 79), for one-day excursions (trips shorter than 24 hours), protection is not provided in terms of travel guarantee.

Nature Travel Office is insured by an insurance policy against responsibility for travel agencies in case of insolvency and liability in case of damage to the traveller, number 30000049351, by the insurer MILENIJUM OSIGURANJE ADO Belgrade. The policy is valid from April 01, 2025 to April 01, 2026. In this program, travel agency Nature Travel Office applies their general terms and conditions of traveling, which are included in signing up for the trip.
