Mount Olympus – a unique, authentic, symbol of Greece. Olympus is the mountain where, according to Greek mythology, the gods lived. The highest peak of the mountain is Mytikas, with its 2,918 meters. On this mountain there are 46 peaks higher than 2000 meters. Olympus Mountain is known for its rich flora, with about 1,500 plant species, of which 23 are endemic. Olympus is the highest and most beautiful Greek mountain that represents untouched nature, and since 1983 it has been under the protection of UNESCO, and the mountain has the status of a national park.
Tour plan:
Departure in front of the hotel in Niš (near the ticket office) at 06:00 a.m. Travel through Macedonia with stops along the way for rest and border formalities. Arrival at “Olympus Water Park”. The canyon adventure lasting 3 hours. An excellent canyon for the first day of our adventure. Accommodation in a private household. Dinner. Overnight stay.
Breakfast. Transfer to Gortsia at 1130 m, from where we start the ascent. After six hours of hiking, we arrive at Muses Plateau, which is located at the foot of the main peaks of Olympus Mountain at 2750 m. Accommodation in the mountain hut or in tents on the plateau. Dinner. Overnight stay.
Waking up early. After breakfast, we start to climb. All-day hiking tour with climbing the peaks: Profitis Ilias 2803m, Stefani 2909m, Mytikas 2918m and Skolio 2911m. Lunch break on one of the peaks. Return on the south side to the Prionia parking lot, located at 1050 meters above Spilios Agapitos mountain hut. Accommodation in a private household. Dinner. Overnight stay.
After breakfast, transfer to the village of Karitsa, which is located above the more famous Kokino Nero. A canyoning tour in one of the most beautiful canyons in Greece lasts seven hours. This canyon makes spectacular a lot of pools, tubs and nine waterfalls with the highest one of 55 meters. After the canyoning adventure, transfer to our accommodation. Dinner. Overnight stay.
Breakfast. Option 1: CANYONING ADVENTURE for three hours along the Orlias River. A beautiful canyon is located in the immediate vicinity of Litohoro. Option 2: TREKKING ADVENTURE. Transfer to Prionia, located at 1050 m, where we start our walking tour. Enipeas Gorge is one of the most famous places of Mount Olympus. If you pass through this canyon during the spring months, when there is plenty of water, you will see Enipeas in all its glory. On this path, with a total length of 10 km, we will cross the river several times over wooden bridges, we will visit the monastery of St. Dionysius, as well as the cave where this saint lived as a hermit. Return to Serbia in the afternoon. Arrival in Niš in the late evening. The end of the program.

High-top sneakers or hiking shoes, multiple pairs of socks, short sleeved t-shirts, a lightweight jacket with a hoodie (waterproof if possible), a sweatshirt, a back-up pair of pants, sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen, swimming suit, a towel. If you want, you can bring candy or sweets, snacks, water and refreshments. Put everything into a small backpack.
Depending on the available capacity, the accommodation will be in the immediate vicinity of NP Olympus, in the area of Pieria.
A 50% advance payment of the total arrangement price is required at the time of booking. The remaining amount must be paid no later than 20 days before the start of the trip (with the option of installment payments). This program is based on a minimum of 8 registered participants. In case of changes in the monetary market (or the market of goods and services) or an insufficient number of registered participants, the tour organizer reserves the right to adjust prices, modify the program, or cancel the trip no later than 5 days before the scheduled departure.
For departure from Belgrade, additional payment of €20 per person. Payment should be made in RSD equivalent.
The organizer of the trip is travel agency Nature Travel Office, licence number OTP 38/2025 issued by the Business Register Agency as of May 06, 2025. Nature Travel Office is insured by an insurance policy against responsibility for travel agencies in case of insolvency and liability in case of damage to the traveller, number 30000049351, by the insurer MILENIJUM OSIGURANJE ADO Belgrade. The policy is valid from April 01, 2025 to April 01, 2026. In this program, travel agency Nature Travel Office applies their general terms and conditions of traveling, which are included in signing up for the trip.
