Discover the breathtaking landscapes of pastures, meadows, and glades, and witness the enchanting dance of semi-wild horses at sunset! Experience the beauty of mountain rivers and crystal-clear streams that suddenly transform into waterfalls over 60 meters high. Climb a small peak—just for the joy of it—descend into a cave, or, if you’re feeling bold, rappel down a cliff. And for the bravest among you, take on the challenge of canyoning down a wild mountain river. Explore the untamed, untouched, and extraordinary nature. Yes, discover the Balkans—the very mountain that gave the Balkan Peninsula its name. Welcome to Stara Planina, a truly unique National Park!

Tour plan:

Departure from the Čair Hall in Niš (near the ticket office) at 06:30 a.m. We travel along the main road through Sićevo Gorge to Pirot and then continue into the very heart of Stara Planina. Passing through the magnificent villages of Stara Planina—Rsovci, Visočka Ržana, and Jelovica—we arrive at Široke Luke, our starting point for this magical trek. Following the Jelovica River valley, we first reach a smaller waterfall, and soon after, the Great Kopren Waterfall, officially the highest waterfall in Serbia. Climbing up alongside the waterfall to the very source of Dabidžin Potok is one of the most surreal experiences on Stara Planina. Shortly after, we reach Kopren Peak, standing at 1,960 meters above sea level. After spending some time at the peak, we descend along a ridge offering breathtaking views of neighboring Bulgaria, passing Kata Kamen, and then follow a forest trail back down to Široke Luke. The tour, 15 km long in total, requires a high level of physical fitness and excellent agility. Return to Niš in the evening. End of the program.
