Mali obalski grad Mahdia nalazi se ju\u017eno od Monastira, na uskom poluostrvu, koje je od ostatka kopna, na naju\u017eem delu, odvojeno jedinom gradskom kapijom, Skifa el Kahla. Mahdia je uspela da sa\u010duva \u0161arm lokalnog, mirnog tuni\u017eanskog mesta. Odli\u010dna je polazna ta\u010dka za upoznavanje centralnih i ju\u017enih delova Tunisa. Turisti\u010dka zona se pru\u017ea uz predivnu pe\u0161\u010danu pla\u017eu severno od grada i u ponudi ima kvalitetne i sadr\u017eajne hotele.<\/p>\n

Grad je tako\u0111e poznat po svojim rukotvorinama, posebno po tkaninama i keramici.
