Ka\u017eu da je Sveti \u0110or\u0111e jednom davno si\u0161ao s planinskih visova da bi za\u0161titio ovaj obalni kraj od morskih \u010dudovi\u0161ta koja su izranjala iz dubina Strimonijskog zaliva. Tragovi njegovog koplja, veruje se, i danas se mogu videti u o\u0161trim usecima stena iznad Stavrosa. Kada vetar dune sa planine Holomontas, me\u0161tani ka\u017eu da se mo\u017ee \u010duti daleki odjek konjskih kopita svetitelja koji i dalje kru\u017ei nad morem.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"647\" data-end=\"1081\">Asprovalta je, prema predanju, dobila svoje srebrnaste pla\u017ee od blagoslova koji je Sveti \u0110or\u0111e dao moru nakon jedne velike bitke, zbog \u010dega voda ovde blista neobi\u010dnom, gotovo \u010darobnom svetlo\u0161\u0107u. U nekim no\u0107ima, posebno oko velikih praznika, ribari tvrde da vide svetlosti koje ple\u0161u nad talasima \u2014 znak da svetitelj bdije nad putnicima i pomorcima. Stariji ljudi ka\u017eu da niko ko nosi njegov znak nikada nije izgubljen na ovim obalama.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"647\" data-end=\"1081\">I danas, dok sunce zalazi iza \u0161umovitih brda, regija Svetog \u0110or\u0111a odi\u0161e ose\u0107ajem da je na granici stvarnog i mitskog sveta.
