Serbia, a small country in the hilly Balkans, tired of failures and excuses, tormented by political and economic crises, remains powerful and pure, tame, cruel and magical. Serbia is attractive to visitors because of its rich history and valuable cultural heritage, national parks and special natural rarities, amazing flora and fauna, prestigious festivals and various manifestations, and especially for its untouched nature.

High mountain tops are not characteristics of this region (the highest peak among them is Povlen, 1346 m), but vastness and hilly surroundings, ascending from the surface of 600 meters. These mountains are well-known for hospitality, raspberries, forests and villages, meadows and pastures. This area is rich in water, where powerful rivers chiselled some of the most impressive canyons in Serbia.

The natural asset of the Trešnjica River Gorge was declared a special nature reserve in 1992 primarily to preserve the population of the extremely rare griffon vulture. The gorge of the Trešnjica River provides a home for as many as 17 pairs of griffon eagles, which along with this place live only in the Uvac Canyon. With its exceptional geomorphological forms such as sluices, openings, bedrock and differently shaped rocks, the Trešnjica River Gorge provides a habitat for various rare plant and animal species.
